NCWSA SAC Regionals

By 09/26/2024 No Comments

Whitestone Association Members:

Per the (approved) 2024 Proposed Tournaments & Events, the dates for this event will be September 28 & 29. Please see a few items of note below.

Format:

The event will be titled NCWSA SAC Regionals + Alumni in the AWSA tournament announcements. The NCWSA SAC has proposed to host their College Regionals along with an Alumni AWSA 3-event P&C, 4 max pull (included in the same NCWSA  sanction). The event will also include Whitestone owners & guests. This will be a much different event than Whitestone has been used to having. The collegiate events consist of teams that are competing, and the Regional Championships will have all of the teams competing for placement with the top teams being eligible to go to the National Championships in TX later in October.  The competition is serious and the kids are very enthusiastic, which makes for an event that many of us have never experienced in water skiing. What is even better is that SAC Alumni and Whitestone owners & guests have the opportunity to join in the excitement.

Given that there will be a limited number of pulls that will be possible during the weekend, Whitestone owners and guests will have the first choice of entering the 3-event P&C, non-collegiate portion of this exciting event. In order to accommodate Whitestone Owners/Guests that are interested in skiing, I will need to have a list of skiers that would like to ski before the sanction is opened up.

Registration

Please submit the following information to be pre-entered into the tournament.

Name:
USAWS Member #:
Events you would like to enter & 1 or 2 rounds. (S,T,J):

Because this will be a NCWSA sanction I will need to enter all of the non collegiate skiers and collect entry fees & waivers.

Entry Fees

The entry fees for the non collegiate skiers have not been set yet, but I will expect something like $30 a pull.

Host

The NCWSA SAC is paying Whitestone its typical fee to use the site to host this event. Therefore, WLEPOA will not be out any funds and receive a payment for the tournament. The college kids will be doing their best to maximise the use of the lakes so they can make their rental fee back and hopefully a little more net profit. Therefore, there will not be any requirements on the WLEPOA except to have the ski site and facilities ready to turn over to the NCWSA SAC for the weekend.

Practice

The college kids will be allowed to hold practice on the Friday before the tournament. This will not affect any Whitestone owner from taking an owner set like any other day. The kids will use the boats they are bringing in for the tournament for the practice pulls. Whitestone boats will stay in place until the end of the day Friday for owner sets. The tournament practice sets will be covered under Whitestone’s 365 day sanction practice already in place. All non Whitestone skiers that practice will need to sign a Whitestone Ski Club waiver.

If you have any questions please contact me.
Thanks,
Craig Bryans, SAC
