Dear Whitestone Owners—Some brief updates:

Fiber Optic is coming to Whitestone!

Local service provider ETC has begun installation of fiber optic service throughout Whitestone, work started on Monday.  Steve spoke with ETC and here are the details:

No cost to homeowners if changing over to fiber.  All costs are covered by a government contract that includes installation and hook-up from road to the dwelling.  There are several options available especially if the house is currently using ETC DSL.  Once the initial request is made to ETC arrangements will be made starting with contact with the owner and assessing the site for what construction needs is required to complete the installation.

Phase I of Lake 2 Mitigation Project–Completed!

Phase 1 of the Lake 2 mitigation project has been successfully completed.  The contractor removed all the logs and debris, and the stream channel is now running more toward the middle, reducing our shoreline erosion.  We thank everyone involved for their support and input.  Picture of worker removing debris from the blocked area below:

Looking Ahead to Phase 2

We’re now moving into Phase 2 of the project, which will involve installing large rocks as a barrier.  Placing rocks strategically along the berm to minimize erosion and provide long-term stabilization.  These measures will strengthen our defenses against erosion and maintain the integrity of the lake berm.

Next Steps

The contractor has provided us with a budgetary quote, and we are evaluating and assessing the options and approaches.  The funding for Phase I has been included as a capital improvement in both proposed budget(s) that were sent to you last week.    We will provide updates on the timeline for Phase 2 as soon as details are finalized and funding approved.   If you would like to get involved with this project, your knowledge/expertise is welcome, please contact Steve Wurtz.

MasterCraft Maintenance and Dock Arrangements

We will be pulling the MasterCraft from dock 1 on Friday, November 29th, or Saturday, November 30th. Parker (thank you Parker!) will be transporting it to Skiers Marine for maintenance work.  During this time, the Ski Nautique will be moved from Dock 2 to Dock 1 to accommodate the adjustments.  Thank you for your understanding as we ensure our boats are well-maintained and ready for next season.

Happy Thanksgiving and we hope to see you at the annual meeting at Rocco’s December 8th at 4PM.
